In Canada:


British Columbia Trucking Association (BCTA)
The BCTA is a province-wide non-profit motor carrier association formed solely to advance the interests of the British Columbia motor carriers.

Heavy Duty Distributor Council (HDDC)
The HDDC is a non-profit Corporation organized to educate and acquaint its members in every lawful manner on the use, service, maintenance, repair and replacement of heavy duty truck and trailer parts in heavy vehicle transportation, so as to improve the efficient distribution of these products and promote safety in their use thereof. It also engages in discussions with various levels of Government regarding all phases of regulation and taxation of all the above mentioned products and services.

Ontario Trucking Association (OTA)
The OTA was founded in 1926, and provides services and public policy advocacy for trucking companies hauling freight into, out of and within the Province of Ontario and the continent. OTA presently has about 1700 member companies.

Private Motor Truck Council (PMTC)

The PMTC is the only national association dedicated to the Canadian private fleet community. This site contains information on the Council's goals and objectives, membership, upcoming events, articles and publications.

In the USA


National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA)
NHTSA, under the U.S. Department of Transportation, was established by the Highway Safety Act of 1970, as the successor to the National Highway Safety Bureau, to carry out safety programs under the National Traffic and Motor Vehicle Safety Act of 1966 and the Highway Safety Act of 1966.

National Transportation Equipment Association (NTEA)
The NTEA, established in 1964, currently represents over 1,600 companies that manufacture, distribute, install, buy, sell and repair commercial trucks, truck bodies, truck equipment, trailers and accessories. Buyers of work trucks and the major commercial truck chassis manufacturers also belong to the Association.

Truck Trailer Manufacturers Association (TTMA)
The purpose of the TTMA is to:
• bring about a mutual understanding of the problems confronting all manufacturers (truck trailers, cargo tanks, intermodal containers and their suppliers)
• conduct programs and activities which further the interests of member companies and the truck trailer industry
• cooperate with agencies of the U.S. Federal, U.S. state, and international governments in a way that will best serve both the public and the members' interests.
